We would be hoping to use our tandem, though we haven't ridden it together for months now...

Yep, I'm definitely up for this one.  I thought I'd already said yes, but maybe that was just my inner monologue. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

I'm looking into possible ways to get there.

Is anybody riding out from London to this one?

I will be driving.  Is that any use to you?

Thanks Annie, but not really much help. It's 45ish miles to yours - I might as well start really early and ride the 75ish miles to Wickford - the "What would Teethgrinder do?" solution to gettnig places.

I am tempted to ride there myself now.  What route are you riding?

Thats what I'm trying to sort out.

favourite option at the moment is train to Bishop Stortford, and cycle from there. With a favourable wind I should make the start.

As things stand, I'm still up for this. I have optimistic plans to ride to Wickford (south between Braintree and Witham, then via Danbury and the Hanningfields) join you all for the ride out to lunch, after which I'd ride part of the way back towards Wickford before peeling off nor-nor-west to come home (near Halstead, Essex.)

I would have liked to do this, but logistically it's a bit of a problem unfortunately, involving rather early trains, so I've decided to opt for the "easier to get to" option of Peli & Wooly's ride.  Sorry.

What station would it be best to head for?

Or do I dust off the motor car and put some petrol in it?

I'm hopping to be there and would be very hoppy if you put me down on your list of hopfulls.

I'll be riding there. Where does the ride start from?
If you two decide on a meeting point to ride to the start, I'll meet you there too.

I'm not going to be able to make the 21st, since I need to be back here in the evening and it is too far away! If it was nearer Suffolk there's have been a possibility.

It is simpler than it looks.

I'm not going to be able to make this either.  Mrs Mike has claimed the car that day to take the horse to a forest, so I'm limited to what I can do by train and it's too much faff & time from here.  (no, I'm not riding down!)

WARTY FAIL for me, sadly.

I hoped to be able to do this, but it looks like I'll be travelling on the 21st so not a possibility sadly.  :'(

Hopefully I'll make it to one of these (eventually)!

Can I come please?  I'll try not to get left behind, but I've not had a very good record recently.

My rowing crew has given me a pass-out for this weekend.  So a silly-o-clock alarm, train to St Pancras, pootle across Londonton to Lpoo Street, then the 0815, 0834 or 0855 to Wickford.

It looks a really long way...  (But ending at Burnham, and a slightly-longer train trip back, suits me fine.)

Alert! The 0855 train gets in to Wickford at 0933.  So there might be a YACFer or two aboard.  Don't set off "on-the-dot"!

Looking forward to putting names to faces.  See you there (Weather & Trains permitting.)

Guys, I do so want to come to this but I've been having trouble sleeping lately and if I have a sleepless night tomorrow night I'll be good for nothing, least of all a ride.

I'll see how it goes and make a decision on Saturday morning, last night was not too bad.

Dr Wobbly prescribes that you do the ride. Chill out, get some exercise with some friends and you'll sleep like a baby.

Just make sure that someone on the train wakes you up when you get to your station.  ;)

I think we've decided to do this tandemly. :D

We both wanted to, but weren't sure how the other one would feel.

This may mean that, because of various injuries, we may have to bail at some point.  :-\

But we will have fun (and maybe offer stoker swaps) ;)
