Marmite XO

I've heard of Hennessy XO but Marmite/

The website says it's 'Matured with a stronger taste'. For real or designer piss take?

BTW, colours on the mast here, I like Marmite.

But does it really differ noticeably from the standard Marmite?

There seems to be an ever-expanding range of Marmite products, as if it's no longer just something to use in the kitchen, but a range in itself. Either the manufacturers are trying to create a Marmite identity, a group of people who self-identify as living the Marmite lifestyle, or they're just desperate.

I used to see it being transported around Trafford Park in tankers and wonder - when it was £1-95 a jar - just how much would 20 tons of the stuff be worth!

Marmite with each new round of "Improved flavour" gets more and more bland and like vegemite.

Marmite XO is what Marmite always used to taste like. It's wonderful.

I bought some to try, expecting it to be a gimmick.  It wasn't - we loved it,and the jar was finished in record time

It's a more subtle flavour, and to me less salty.

Marmite fanatic here. I got hold of some XO last year and was slightly disappointed. Yes, it was a bit stronger than normal marmite (which I liked) but not much stronger for saying the advertising was 'extra mature' or something similar. The extra price sealed its fate for me.

All you need to know is it doesn't come in a squeezy bottle, hence not as good as normal marmite. :)

Yes, I agree, having been given some by a friend who knows I am a Marmite fan. Not "extra strength" at all, pace the marketing dept.

It's also a bit less viscous than yer standard Marmite.
