Whilst waiting for a non-existant gap in the clouds for the aurora we played around.

It is simpler than it looks.

Does that mean I get to put some light painting shots up? Lovely sky there by the way!

Does that mean you missed the aurora alert retraction post (18:52)?

That first shot, Jaded, is that outside the dining room of the Overscaig - looking south east?

That's uncanny; when we were at the Overscaig we were saying "this looks just like the view from the cottage"!

It is Loch Broom in the background.
It is simpler than it looks.

Back to my cave in Kingsdale (I'll be a bona fide hermit at this rate), with a tripod and wellies this time.

A small LED torch turned out to be just about OK with shutter speeds of 8-10 seconds, but 30 or more would have been better - I think I could hear the raw files screaming as I pulled these out.  Next time.

Painting with light.  Inna cave.  Cave painting with light, in fact.  More here.

I was riding south through Kingsdale last weekend, Bill!  Those pictures remind me of intestines, which fits the bowels of the earth!  Great stuff, thanks.
