Vista HCx battery meter

Hi all
I cannot get any bars to show on my HCx battery meter. It did work previously. No change in batteries or charger and run times are excellent.
I have updated the device. Software version is as it should be (2.80).
How do I do a reset? Is there a hard reset and a soft reset for this device?
Any fixes?

Re-set the battery type?
It may have reset to alkaline as part of the update, and 1.2V is pretty low for alkaline.

Thanks Andrew - the battery type was set to NiMH prior to the update, and I've restored it since.

Mine does not show the battery level in all display mode. Can't remember the details but I do recall hunting for it a few times.

It doesn't show in most modes - and I must admit I never go looking for it either.
You can do a 'unit reset' (I don't know whether you'd call it hard or soft) by holding down the Page key (top R) and the front button, while powering up.
After doing this you'll need to leave it outside for a while to collect a new almanac - er, switched on of course.

I'm a thick get sometimes.
The battery meter was working fine: it's just that I had a different vision in my mind of what it should look like - for some reason I was thinking that there were green bars for remaining battery life; there aren't.

On second thoughts, I think the problem here is that most of the time my battery meter was not actually displaying any bars at all, thus confusing me as to what its normal appearance should be.

My Vista HCx shows the battery meter on the rhs of the main page menu bar. I use the NIMH setting.
How do you check the sw level?

Thanks. Forgot the last

!
Seems I'm on a lowly v2.4. I don't see a reason to upgrade as I'm not aware of any problems.

I suspect that my battery meter issue (for what it's worth) is related to the software upgrade. I've no idea why I bothered to update it.
