On the now deserted island of Scarp, off the west coast of Harris:

I managed to blag a place on a boat trip across there from Huisinis, and wandered around for a few hours.  Less panoramically, a couple more:

(yes, that is the netty still standing in the corner of the school field).

Mangersta cliffs, West Lewis, and bothy

Mangersta bothy I by billplumtree, on Flickr

The bothy was built and is maintained as a memorial to Linda Norgrove by her parents, who live nearby.  More pics of it are here.

What an extraordinary place, with an extraordinary story.

It is indeed.  Astonishing.  If I hadn't already pitched at the campsite a few miles up the road at Ardroil, I would have happily stayed there.  Next time.

Lots of great stuff in this thread--I'm enjoying it.

This is technically panoramic in format, but not a dramatic wide view. Just playing with the auto-panorama setting.

Hell's Kettle:

Despite the name, they're just a series of ponds near Darlo - pretty enough, mind.

Very concentric!  There is some great stuff on this thread - thank you all.

Bill, is your view of Grasmere from the road up to Allen Bank, looking down to the Quaker Guest House?  I recognise Seat Sandal.

Well recognised Peter - yep, exactly right.  Allen Bank, now that's a great place isn't it?

Certainly is - mind you, there aren't too many bad places round there!  Though I'm not a lover of the Wordsworth Museum's "tower".

More wide-angle than panorama.  It's one image, cropped, not multi-images blended.

Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.
