Nice work OD, I'm tempted to camp too.....but that might not go down very well at Tomsk Towers, in fact no, no, its very silly.

I like the idea of a leisurely ride around some of our haunts [pubs....in daylight - novel !]

Just as an aside, how many Yacf camping fatalities have there been doing silly camping things in winter?

If Hanningfield reservoir freezes over, we could recreate this  ;D

You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

It did in 1962-63. We walked on it.

There was a massive NE wind and the water froze in ice floes at the western end. Hopeless for sliding or skating because it was really rough.

Right party-people....

I have sounded out the Jalsa Ghar and I've made a booking for 12: 8pm on Saturday 3rd December.

Can you please all pm me to confirm that you can come, asap, then I can inform the Jalsa of any adjustments up or down. [They can cope with the odd last-minute extra one - end of table etc].

I know its a fair way off yet and some of you will be unable to be ABSOLUTELY certain but.....

I have two special requests.

Firstly 'mak, if you do wear hotpants can you add some tinsel, last year they were skimpy but not very festive!

Secondly, Reg if you do camp can you bring your trailer tent. I can still scarcely believe such things exist. Will you need an electric hook up?

I'll see if I can organise a fully serviced pitch with water, TV hook up plus grey water and sewage outlets.

Hotpants are not a problem, and I have an idea for a bit of sparkle, but tinsel is out. Count me in for curry. I won't be camping, I think I'll probably cycle back to Chumsford. I may even drive as would like to be on Sunday club run at 9am the following morning.

Showing as out of stock - did you buy the last set?

I see the ladies of the Henham Young Mums Book Club are braching out into modelling sexy festive playwear!  I imagine we'll see Oaky's Christmas tree hat on the web soon.

I'm not sure if Priscilla will make an appearance...

...I might give the new tent an outing instead.

Blimey, how much camping kit have you got!  Go on, bring the trailer tent or I will continue to think such things don't exist!

And a mighty fine specimen it was too!

I think I'll give camping a miss!

I shall cycle up during the day on whichever route is agreed and I'll either cycle back or scab a lift back with токамак if he drives.
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Nominations are invited for 'MEMWNS of the Year'. [Also on the relevant thread]

It has been decided by the benevolent dictatorship, that the honour of awarding this prestigious trophy [hand crafted by Chief from carbon-fibre and, well, tat really] at the Christmas Do, should go to the current holder [ie me].

Pm/email nominations and reasons [if there are any?!] to me.

There is a Travelodge in Dunmow at the other end of the town near the A130 which might be suitable.

Having negotiated a pass for the night I am able to attend this year's festivities
I will be cycling with the Withamite peleton; I am wimping out on the camping bit.

I have just booked a £19.50 room at the Stansted Great Dunmow Travelodge for the night of the 3rd December, which is cycled past on journey between OD's campsite and Jalsa Ghar.
Should any other lightweight attendees of the Christmas Do 2011 also wish to take advantage of this very reasonable (currently anyway) room cost for the night then here is the link.

(I have checked with the Travelodge about bicycle parking - they say that they have such facilities in the car park area where bikes can be secured.)
