I've got as far as tentatively asking if my LBS could get hold of a Farley 6 in my size.
They couldn't, sold out for this year
Stick your fatties here, I know I'm not the only one

That's a marvellous photo, worthy of a poster or the back page of a magazine :D
Bad bad thread. I don't need another bike... even though the Devinci Dexter has convinced me that fatter is better (2.35 vs 2.0) and I still miss my old rigid evo2.
This video is the closest to being my undoing, and if it snows it will be curtain - my sort of ride

The evo2 is still being used, got shod with some Bontrager Hardcase H2s at the weekend, ready for commuting through the mean streets of Leeds, from tomorrow)
They must be able to get 21.5 frame, it's a bit errrr, big :P
You do need one, you're correct. It'll be the other bikes you don't need once the trek arrives
I'm rather addicted to mine, I can stop using it, or tinkering with it or just looking at it
Nothing I can afford, plus I really love my LBS.Surly completes are generally overpriced. Salsa tend to head into 'WTF?!' territory.
Shop can get Salsa or Surly, but are Mulkluk 3s really going to be £1900? If they were nearer the £1300, I could be tempted.
*cough*Mukluk ti*cough*

Oh! I! Say! That Yampa is rather fabulous ;D

Just bought fatbike no.2
Not what I was after at all but I was offered it today so snapped it up. It's a 9:Zero:7, it'll be a nice plaything
I'll post a pic once I've tinkered
If you can pick it up, you're more than welcome to borrow Pugsley for a while. You'll have to make do with tyres called Larry, though.Oh! I! Say! That Yampa is rather fabulous ;D

carbon Salsa bucksaw! :oMeh.

I think IZ is right, the full sus ones will have the gravity assisted guys all over them. They went, half heartedly, in that direction in the late '90's with bikes that could take the Nokon tyres (3.5") but it seemed to fizzle out. 29ers don't seem to be making much headway, nor 650B.

LBS has helpfully (like crack dealers) offered a Mondraker Panzer for December delivery.Bike shops are like that.
I've just cleaned myself up, having a brew, then de-crudding the bike!

Glad you're enjoying it
I face a similar dilemma - whilst Pugsley has an On-One stem which is due to be replaced anyway, the ElMar has a Thomson :-\
On the other hand, shifting a bit more weight off the Tour Divide bike is a Good ThingTM and a tubeless Pugsley with carbon bars will be relatively svelte too.
Ah well, not long until pay-day.

PaulF and interzen, if handlebar fettling happens, does that mean there might be one or two sets of one-careful-owner-from-new 25.4 black Marys up for sale?

As that's just what I need for one or both of the two commuter bikes (one for each end of the train journey) and on-one are out of stock and not re-stocking....
thanks Interzen and PaulF.
PaulF, if you do ever change them and want to sell the old ones do let me know please...
I've just cleaned myself up, having a brew, then de-crudding the bike!
Probably this as well.

I read that as 're-cuddling' the bike!
Beer helps with anything. Beer and bars go together so well ;D

A quick Google found a 7 speed Mongoose fat bike at Walmart for $249!!! :o
Is this a new category: FatBSO?
Had a couple of fantastic days in the welsh mountains. Sunny and freezing cold :thumbsup:Do you not need rim tape?

Do you not need rim tape? That'll be the black stuff peeking through the holes in the rims. Just sayin' ...
That looks so shiny I thought it was the inner tube.
I'm used to Real rim tape being cloth.
It's a surly rim strip, went for boring black.
The red doesn't match

Matches fine for me^ ;D
I'm torn with respect to using a GoPro - one part of me wants to rebel against endless uploading of boring1 footage by not doing it, whereas another part of me wants to stick one on the El Mariachi so I can shoot some of the more interesting bits of the Tour Divide (and/or my training rides)
1 - not to suggest that the above filmage is boring; I've not watched it so can't comment.
Given my brain's tendency to misfire at inopportune moments I'd probably forget to switch the bloody thing on (this could apply equally to my brain or the camera)
My first use of a gopro. Think I'll stick to my day job, Del Toro can keep his ;D

Any of you fatties out for Global Fatbike Day tomorrow?
I was heading for a beach ride at merseyside but now doing a local ride with Tim @Sideways. The tides in at merseyside in the morning
I'm contemplating different mounts, definitely getting the chest mount. They do a pole but I don't fancy lugging it around with me. You get funny looks with it mounted on top of your head, a 4ft pole won't help
What tyres you on Paul?
Don't clean it , wait until it snows, then it all drops off with the snow
The snow isn't as good as last night, when it was fresh. It's a bit crap when it's turned to solid ice :-\
Got a Floater on the back, Nate up front.
Had to clean it as I'm doing the SPAM challenge tomorrow, not because I'm fussy I just want the bike closer to it's original weight!

Certainly did, although I think the burger afterwards (highly reccomended) and teh subsequent binge eating may have neutralised the losses.
Think I was more used to then the cyclocrossers, was great zooming past them on the more slippery downhill sections. Of course they then passed me as the terrain flattened out...

Just found the results: 227th out of 337
Should've kept riding away on it, it'd look nice in your collection :thumbsup:Indeed.
I had a go on someone's Charge Cooker in the early hours of this morning on Primrose Hill.
I can't remember the last time I laughed so much onna bike
Is that a Jones hub in your picture bumper? Thought they had an odd spacing?Jones hubs are 135mm OLN - the axle is non-standard, though.
Thanks, knew there was something different about it
It would be good to arrange a forum offroad bivvy trip. I'm going to try an overnighter in Wales this week, the weather may put a stop to that though! I'm on Mull June/July too. A Gisburn trip would be good late summer
Yes a Stache 9
50mm Mulefats
It's got plenty of clearance. The forks can take 3.4s, and the rear has at least as much clearance.
git ;)
nice ECR, was thinking of getting one when I sold my 907 but full fat is in the blood now.
might be in yours if you keep looking ;D
"Your fatbike" sounda as if it could be a playground insult along the lines of "Your mum".Rog,
"Jurek, what was that I saw you riding last night?"
"Your fatbike."
"Jurek, what do you think you're doing in the shed?"
"Your fatbike."
"Jurek, what was it that broke the Forth Road Bridge?"
"Your fatbike."
Nice work C-3PO. No worries from this quarter.+1

SPLORT!
The very first recorded example of a "Your Mum" response was the reason why Gazza started blubbing during the 1990 World Cup. The phrase was uttered by a Mr Gary Winston Lineker. Trufax.

Emex australis, commonly known in English as southern threecornerjack,[1] devil's thorn,[citation needed] or double gee[2] (also doublegee, from the old Afrikaner name dubbeltge-doorn - 'devil's thorn'), or three-cornered jack, is a herbaceous plant of the Polygonaceae. It occurs indigenously in South Africa and is also an invasive species in Australia & Texas in the USA.

But best off all, the corrugated gravel roads would just be smooooouth. Could make touring on forestry tracks an absolute joy.
I've wondered a few times about the viability of the Canning Stock route on a fatbike. Sad to read that most of the wells are now disfunctional. When I was a kid we went on a school trip up there (via bus) and camped next to the wells for several nights. I was struck by the utility and history of the route.
Not really a fan of the outback (prefer the forest) but the stock route is interesting.
Looks like a nice clean ride Paul ;D
I miss my Nates this time of year. I'm still going through the 5 pairs of floaters I bought on sale last winter
That's a seriously pointy-upwards angle on that saddle. I'm surprised you have any balls left.
They do look such fun!

Hold on to them - I read somewhere that they've been discontinued.
Had a nice poodle up in the Welsh mountains yesterday.
After a soggy climb through the mist, it rained. Luckily I had a bag of wooden kitty litter pellets for my wood burner

lots of backsweep?

Hmmm... They look good. I have bar ends mounted inboard ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxtXaAEo42OmYXpMa285a3JCcGM/view ) and find the resulting hand position better than on 'H-bars'.

Think it must be the angle of the photo. Stooge Moto bars. Not too much back sweep, nice rise and super wide. I like them. A lot.

Is that a chrome Pugsley?

Yep. Acquired the frame second hand off Ebay. Chap I bought it off had it custom chromed by some top motorbike chromer in London. I was lucky enough to stumble across it. Currently built as 29+ with Alfine. Had it a few months and now considering full fat for winter mud.
