Best place to sell a track bike?
« on: 16 April, 2024, 11:22:25 am »
My daughter has asked me to sell her track bike which has sat unused in my garage for 5 years. Its a low-end aluminium frame Giant for which she paid £250 second hand when she was racing at Calshot. Any suggestions for the best online place to sell it or is it just eBay? Thanks.

Does your local cycling club have a facebook page that would allow an advert?
Or can you pin on a noticeboard at the track?

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near a velodrome, but will look at at options for a remote post!

The market will depend on it's exact spec - a full track specific bike will not have brake calliper drillings, bottle cage bosses or any other bosses/mounting points. Some track wheels do not have any braking surfaces.

A road use fixie will have some or all of those "features", front brake only and no bottle cages is a very limited market for road use (I did run that spec for commuting and audaxes up to 400K 'til the frame cracked, but current audax fixie is a fully bossed frame with mudguards).
