Looks like I've got a bad case of Blepheritis! (which is a fancy name for dermatitis of the eyelids!)

 8) Must not scratch despite them being itchy!

Any home remedies which anyone recommends?

Baby shampoo on a cotton pad, then diluted with water.  Wipe gently and then use another damp cotton pad to rinse.

That's what the optician told me to do, and it does work if you do it twice a day every day for a week or so.

If you're 'ard just let your shampoo run into your eyes every time you shower but, generally what Julian said.

Yes, wot they said, but I was also told to use VERY hot water to break down any waxy build up on the lashes that may be the cause of the problem.

Pinch of bicarbonate of soda dissolved in an eggcup of boiling water, let it cool, bathe and gently scrub the eyelids and eyelashes with it.

Well, twice daily cleaning of eyelids with warm water and baby shampoo is working nicely!   ;D
