A Walk In The Wilderness

Or, actually, a walk in 'The Widerness'

Some photos, of a lovely walk we took, which had been trapped on a camera for months.

And, to prove he was there too:

I like those Clarion.  It's intriguing to wonder how the hollow in the log became that shape.  In close up it might be elephant ents feeding on beech mast or something!  I always like decaying metal, too, except on my bike!  When was it?  That ivy looks like it's actually been killed, rather than died off naturally.  Is that what the cuts in the tree are about?

The ivy had just been sawn off part way up, and was dying back, but it had pretty much smothered the tree.  The hollow was interesting.  I took more photos of it, but I thought that might get too boring ;D

That's a lovely Pooh Bear sort of Wilderness.  :) Where is it?

It's near Kinver.  My parents live not so very far away, but, though I've done lots of walking in the area, about 90% of it has been over the Edge.

Funnily enough, I used to live not far from the model for the Hundred Acre Wood (in Sussex).

I'm afraid I had to google Kinver. But... but... it's not Yorkshire! How can your parents have ever lived there?  :o

My parents both have the sad affliction of being non-Tykes.

Sad.

I think in that case we shall draw a veil over your DNA.

I'd do it myself but I don't have a pencil on me and I'm no good at spirals.
