First up is this, spotted in Chorlton park:

A second photo from Chorlton Park, this one was formerly a tree. There are a few of these in the park .. the most impressive is an eagle with it's wings spread.

Then I wandered down on into Chorlton, along Beech Road, past Chorlton Green into a small cemetery. Spotted this young lass photographing some of the tombstones:

On through to Ivy Green, a wooded nature reserve skirting Chorlton Brook, not far from Sale Water Park and the River Mersey I spotted this proclamation:

These pipes have been here for as long as I can remember. There's a signed Gas main running nearby - I guess these were superfluous?

Finally, I spotted this reflection in the icy water on the way home. Help's to illustrate just what kind of day it was.
