The Polar Bear Family & Me

Did anyone see the The Polar Bear Family & Me documentary on tv last night (7th jan?)
Not entirely comfortable with the fact that the presenter, Gordon Buchanan, seems more interested in distracting polar bears who are trying to feed by sitting himself in a plastic box and sticking HD film cameras in their faces.
Rather than the bear trying to find food, it spends valuable energy trying to get in the box and eat the film maker.......

Surely in this day and age of long focal length HD Cameras / remote cameras, they could have filmed a bear hunting for seals without disturbance?

I fairness he set up his protective box up near a Seal's breathing hole with just that intent.

In the end he got some unexpected footage of the inside of a Polar Bear's mouth and it's impressive set of teeth.

He didn't scream as loudly as I would have.

Was it my imagination or did they run out of decent footage and show some footage repeated, but back-to-front?
