GN: SPTA Newsletter says when...

BN: Gosh, they're being restrictive (at the moment).  Bank Hol w/e only, unless they change their minds. :(

The hall's being re-roofed in Aug as well - provisionally OK, but your builder may vary  :( :(

Ah , http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/17-290/ open for business.  Form a disorderly rabble  ;)
I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

Might enter, stay with Iddu ( if he'll have me ) and then train back afterwards.  That worked before.  And was fun.  I now have a lighter / faster suitable bike

Or just ride to Imber from Devon possibly via another lost village

I've just altered my rota for weekend cover to not include this weekend

Am going to try to persuade CET Junior to rejoin the AUK fold.  He will appreciate the abandoned tanks and other ordinance littered about some of the scenic parts of the route.  Though he might struggle if we had the windy entertainment of last year.

I am signed up. Just need to be fit enough to manage 200! Still , this is at the end of August and I am already in training for my September Duathlon (the kickstart to get me off my fat arris).

Just signed up for this and looking forward to it greatly.

Only need to fettle a couple of suitable bikes and wait for the weather forecast.

Will there be a route-sheet available before the day? Or is the route set from previous editions?

Fanx.

Seriously though, what normally motivates me is to enter a diificult or long (or both!) ride well in advance, and tell myself DNS is not an option. Training is another matter - I usually get by on base fitness from cycle commuting to London. although I always PLAN to do more...

Thanks. I lost my nice daily cycle commute when I changed jobs- 100km/day is not possible for me! I just need to motivate- and to think that I have a decent training location just 5 minutes away! Richmond Park just depressed me though, all that traffic and badly driven minicabs.

Still, I will stop cluttering up this thread!

Bugger. Can't ride as wife has double booked me. Can't get out of it either. Arse.

Have fun everyone, it's a special ride, this one.

Just looking at what to take for the ride based on my experience of the few years. Do folks think it's reasonable to not bother packing my snorkel and flippers this year!😁😁😁

I also recall that last year  there was a new cafe opposite Costa's in Melksham

Edited to correct Marlborough to Melksham😚
