Ubuntu image tweaking prog simpler than the GIMP?

Missus's GIMPward imprecations are threatening to melt her monitor.  Anyone know a simpler alternative?

Try Darktable, fairly easy if you only use the basic functions, or Shotwell if you really want to be simple.

You don't say what it is you are trying to do, but Google photos online editing is as simple as it gets.

She's going to have a bash at Darktable. She has Shotwell but it's too simple; and she doesn't fancy Google getting its hooks into her pics. Lord knows why, since she bungs them all on Arsebook anyway.

Thanks for tips. I'd have looked myself but after yesterday's ride I was too zonked to look myself.

DigiKam is also worth a look.  It's an all-in-one photo organisation / editing app.

Ta, I'll pass it on. She's not really after the organization part, though. She never used Lightroom when she ran Windows because of that.

You could try Pinta, it is designed to be simple and fast, similar to Paint etc.

Or try RawTherapee, some of it is complicated, but should be fairly simple for basic tweaks.

Ta.

I reckon I'll have to cobble together a Ubuntu box and have a poke at these myself. I have an old XP box lying around, should do.

Have a look at gThumb. It's billed as an image browser but it does have basic editing features too. It will probably be part of the basic installation.

I've been using RawTherapee (on Windoze admittedly) for a while now and I've been happy enough with it.
