Ditto the gear cables in SRAM Red. Installing Jagwire Proshift cable kits which come with double ended cables for Campag or ShimRAM, so you have to feed a cut cable around the shifter drum.

This is a build using a used transmission so the levers were off the bars and the hoods removed. Still it was impossible to feed the cable through without it fraying. Luckily there was plenty of spare length but I would hate to have to try that at the roadside in the pissing rain.

i haven't had any issues routing the cut inner cable through such shifters, the trick is to grab the cable end with needle nose pliers, wrap a few turns around the pliers which makes a nice bend to the cable and it goes through with a bit of gentle wiggle.

I just re-cabled one of these and managed to get it through first time.  I suppose that's depleted the SRAM twist shifter threading karma for a while...
