Author Topic: New Electric Mid drive was Optimum rpm and gear inches for low gear  (Read 687 times)

Two more short rides after the first and since fitting a Thudbuster and adjusting the saddle which seems to have reduced one area of pain. The first of the rides included a falling off in mud which jarred my back and prompted a week of Ibuprofen and Deep Heat.

I am very pleased with the effect of this motor. I leave it on setting 1, go for 2 and a lower gear for longer rises and 3 for harder ones. Setting 2 or 3 and/or a lower gear also takes the sting out of headwinds. Sometimes, as I go back up the gears, I forget about the assist so when I do notice and reduce it it has much the same effect as a higher gear.

I am getting aches in the thighs and calfs which I assume are the muscles returning to fitness and me not being lazy with the use of the motor.
Time now for some balmier weather, I hope, and slightly longer rides.
Never knowingly under caffeinated
