My eldest daughter bought me one of these for Christmas and it is great for carrying on the bike in a pocket and whilst folded the velcro strap can be used to attatch it to various objects, "principally a bike frame"  :thumbsup:

I had one of these.  It was great until I lost it.  I could attach my camera to road signs and use the timer to get photos of me riding past.  Also very lightweight and easy to use.

I bought it a few years ago from Needle Sports.

Gorillapod is another handy product - with bendy grippy legs.
