Our dead-end street in Culter has not been treated, and was basically a skating rink of pure verglas.
There is a yellow bin for grit, but it's empty.

Today, I took the Land Rover to the Garden Centre, and bought several bags of grit and put it down myself.

We appear to have dodged the worst of it here in the shadow of the Chilterns. It’s been sleeting, with various snow content, since around 2am and continues so to do in a brisk north-westerly. It’s yuck.

Started snowing in Bristol about 2330 and to my surprise some of it has settled, in a slushy way. Sunny now but not warm.

Bizarrely, this morning, there was much more snow within the West Midlands conurbation than in the small valley where we were pretty much cut off last snowfall. Doesn't usually happen this way round.

I saw more cyclists on my trip to the wild southeast today than I have on any previous day. It seems snow brings people out to play on their bicycles. At least once it's almost all melted.

Stansted, under an hour away was closed yesterday/overnight, here in the fens, sogginess, snow, hail, sleet, nothing settling. A hard frost when putting the bins out this morning.

Sunny Suffolk is currently snowy Suffolk. It’s been snowing for the past 3 hours and there’s a whole half an inch on some surfaces. The road is remaking stubonly unsnowed on.
