In the first one, who would she be signalling to?
Whoever's there, surely? It's just an illustrative article that's meant to say "It's spring, let's get our bikes out." I don't think (wouldn't swear to it) there's a specific offence of failing to indicate while in charge of a pedal cycle.

That's my point - I couldn't see anyone there.

My driving instructor taught me that you should only be signalling if there are people there to see it, I apply the same rules on the bike.

Interesting. I was taught the opposite. But neither apply to the article, because it's simply illustrative, as I said before.

Mine did too, but when driving I work on the principle that indicating to nobody is harmless and my observations might have failed.

On a bike it comes down to whether I'd rather use the hand for brakes and gears.

You should only signal if there's no-one looking?  A bit like most BMW and Audi drivers round here :P

They only signal when they're looking.  BTW, add Porsches to the list.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Lost a brake pad this morning.  :-X

I'm on tour on another bit of Eurovelo 13 (iron curtain trail) and I've not seen any shop bigger than a bakery for the last 150 km.  Luckily it's very flat.  :)

Got some nice new Estonian pads. They're very shiney but don't do much — at least there's no chance of me going over the bars again

Have we ever had a YACF attempt at this? If not, why not?

Because we don't want any more cycling injuries?

(They're still having way more fun than me.  Bastards.)

A couple of weeks ago I returned the bike that my sister lent to me 7 years and 27000km ago.  She had decided that cycle commuting might be sensible as her 8 mile each way commute was taking her an hour in the car.  We did a very leisurely practice commute and I was afraid that the numb bum etc had put her off the whole idea.

This evening she told me that she cycled to work on Wednesday

Apparently it took her 58 minutes and didn't kill her which is good news.

I didn't like to ask how she got home.

I am a cyclist, and I'm here to fuck you up

(if that isn't clickbait, I don't know what is, but I enjoyed reading it)

Jan and I were driving into Southend this afternoon and were stuck in slow-moving traffic. A cyclist overtook us and headed off down the road. The most remarkable thing about him was that he was riding a London hire bike. 40 miles from London.

I am at a tech show, in that there London. One of the exhibitors is Piaggio, with their e-bike. They are very nice, but not £3500 nice! Oh and like everything seems to be, these days, they are app connected!
