If Steve is able to start on the trike in another week.
If Steve were then able to turn 100 miles a day for the rest of April.
If Steve upped that to 150 a day for the whole of May.
If Steve was then fully fit he'd need to average 244.78 miles per day for the rest of the year.
These are just numbers. They are not an opinion or suggestion about what Steve should or should not do.
Edit: Could be worse, Mr Pruett is already up to 266 per day required.
That's about the size of it.
A lot of that will depend on my recovery and how I get on with the recumbent. We don't know if it will work or not.
On the other hand, I started on Jan 1st after my lowest two months of mileage for several decades and went straight into 180mpd in winter.
I don't think it unlikely that what I have done so far this year has had an effect on what I can do. I must have gained but there's also the question of how much I've lost from resting.
We won't know unless I try and if I do nothing and get back on a bike in June to find that I'm going very well I'd be kicking myself for not getting a few easy miles in.
I'll be very disapointed if we don't run an additional concurrent attempt. I like the idea of a flying start and starting when I think I will be doing the most miles per day.
It does contradict my original plan of starting in winter but I am in a different place now to what I was then and I think it would work better.
Continuing with the current attempt will also allow for some experimentation and act as a dry run for the next attempt.
Assuming it works that is but we won't know until I try.
Recumbent is due to arrive sometime in the week and from there it's a matter of trying it out and taking it from there. I may ride it half a mile and stop but on the other hand...
