I’ve spent the day walking around Lille which was nice. Now my ankle & lower back are giving me gyp, which is not. Mr Stross’s latest to entertain me in the hotel room.

*now 'watching' Strictly*

Mrs B keeps telling to shut up.
A couple of years ago I lodged with a school friend and his wife in his mother's house. She had dementia,  horrible condition that it is, and they were part of the care thing for her.

Anyway, one evening they persuaded me to watch Strictly. When it was over, his mother, who still retained a Several of Marbles pronounced: "Well it is all bollocks isn't it."

I found myself in agreement.

I'm all in favour of "Strictly". MrsL loves it (Pink! Sparkly!) and it guarantees me some completely uninterrupted time to build my "toy" aeroplanes.    :)

I find it difficult to be irked these days by such things as "Strictly" providing I'm allowed to indulge in the trivial things that amuse me and not required to participate in those that don't.

I watched Strictly last night whilst waiting to catch up on Eve.

I marvelled at how the colour balance between cameras was so consistent and then thought because digital. Sadly that bit of cogitation only took up enough seconds to cover about half a ‘dance’.
It is simpler than it looks.

Leaving aside the folly of playing the lottery...

Camelot have reduced the number of weeks you can buy as an alternative to paying by DD from 8 weeks to 2. Arses.

I’ve just discovered Mr Stross after looking for something to follow on from Mr Aaronovitch.

AIUI that’s a temporary thing and it has been counting down from eight for, well, 6 weeks now. They’re introducing ‘another’ new scheme of numbers, but I take little notice other than pay the idiot tax from time to time.

The annual display has been cancelled.  The money saved will go to the flood appeal.

Good-oh.

I was wrong on that.  The display will be on Monday Nov 5th.  Who'd have thought?
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

FFS. Has Eurostar been subcontracted to Northern Fail?  Just been told that my 17:35 back to London is going to be at Lille for approx 45 minutes.  I’ll probably miss my planned connection back to Liverpool. Luckily it’s an open ticket so I can get a later train.

Prolly down to knobheads trying to take battlefield 'souvenirs' on the train with them. Seriously, people are picking up the 'iron harvest' to take home.

Understandably, Eurostar don't want anyone picking up a Darwin Award...

Yes, there were 2 security chaps walking around warning about that.   My train was delayed because it was coming in from Brussels & a train in front of it broke down .

I have a silk tie which demonstrates that some colours of silk are tastier than others to moths. I wear a tie about once every two years, so it's not a big deal in practice.
