During my arage excavations I have found my canon 350 and 400d.  So was thinging of either selling them or converting them both to astrophotography by removing ir filters.  Was also looking at adding chdk firmware.

Unfortunatly my 450d with kit lens and 75-300 is lens both got stolen in France.

So firstly any cheap decent compact flash cards around?

You can get adapters that take an SD card inside. Maybe cheaper.

Will the camera read them?  I have a few micro drives that the cameras won't read.

There's a few on Amazon, mostly with good reviews.
Check if it Type I or Type II compact flash. Type II is thicker (like a Microdrive) so may not fit in some cameras. Also Microdrive needs a lot more current than a flash card, maybe why it doesn't work.

Use an SD -> CF card adapter.   Much cheaper solution.  That's what I use in my Canon 1DMk2 and 5D SR.
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.
