London Marathon

Ladies first. How heartbreaking must it be to run a time faster than the existing world record, only to actually finish forth? Pretty much perfect running weather this morning in London as the top four women showed.

Then the men. A Brit came home third and was somewhat shocked when he was handed the bronze medal. Talk about run your own race!

I don’t know if I’ll ever run a marathon, but I do so hope that my health improves enough for me to get back out to the streets and trails. Watching this lot on TV this morning has provided some motivation to stick to my diet, a central thread in improving my health.
For every complex problem in the world, there is a simple and easily understood solution that’s wrong.

It is one thing to run a marathon, a completely different thing to race one. Having done the former but not the latter, but reflecting on the difference between riding 100 miles and racing a 100 mile TT.
