Good stuff! - Great start so far.

I take it there aren't many leftovers in the Wobbly homestead today.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

Just saw the tracker fire up.
Wish him all the best for another chilly day out there.

Well, the 48 pack of Weetabix remains unopened. Steve clearly wasn't trying.

It's a balmy 3 Centigrade out there (no idea what that is in those funny, foreign units) which Steve commented felt "warm" as we set off.

Good one, Wobbly!  A Stevebot rebooted, refuelled, and on the road. :)

Hoping for no ice today.
Getting there...

Wonder if the eating habits of UK Audaxers will be going through a transformation over the coming year?

Forecast seems to have picked up a bit over night, thank goodness and looking pretty reasonable over the next few days. Good work Wobbly and keep safe TG.

Just come in to work from my lofty heights near the top of the hill in Sheffield which was pretty bad but down on the lower ground in the city centre the snow is barely sticking on the roads. As long as Steve stays low down, he probably won't run to any difficulties.

You know, I think in 20 years time they will tell stories about the Abraham Groove in the road between Gretton and Tewksbury.

Just wondering if the sausage index will increase during a higher mileage summer.

I've just lookked at the trackers for the other two:  Pruett's estimate fo today is 300+ miles, which at c 30mph (in the Ian Cammish class) I can just about believe, but Searvogel's is over 2000 miles, which at 11mph, I can't believe.  Has he (or both) left it switched on while they fly?  There are some very long straight lines on the tracks!

Good work Wobbly
I'll be acting as Steve's carer at his place in MK from tonight through to Sat morning.

Food for tonight is prepared (edit - with more than a little help from Mrs SH):
Brocolli & stilton soup
Oxtail stew with pasta and greens (the Jamie Oliver recipe describes it as "Insanely good oxtail stew", serves 8-10. Should be enough for Friday too I hope and certainly tastes good to me).
Apple crumble and custard.

Two packs of sausages at the ready for breakfast and pocket food. Sounds like more will be required.

Will be heading off to MK this afternoon. I don't plan to cycle with Steve but will be taking running kit to explore the nearby Grand Union canal towpath.

So hopefully the TG machine will be well fuelled and catered for over the next few days.

It is good information to know what host's are giving Steve for meals.
Has he given any hints on anything that he is missing/craving which could be picked up by following hosts?
I will be hosting Steve on Saturday and am currently planning a chicken pasta bake with fresh veg.
Not sure about sweet yet, he may be crumbled out!
Usual stuff available for breakfast and pocket food.

Sounds like you have it well planned SH. If you need any Weetabix I have 48 here still.

I asked Steve a few times if he wanted anything else but he said no.

During his stay he didn't eat anything sweet (not even sugar in his tea which surprised me)

Isn't the 'Abraham Groove' a song about Smurfs?

What a coincidence, me too.

That and the rule which states you have to actually ride more miles than the previous record...

I rarely ride a 200km without a "proper" rehydration stop. It is supposed to be a leisure activity after all! O:-)

If my knowledge of MK is correct, the shortest route from Steve's flat to the Grand Union Canal should take you past the concrete cows. Something to look forward to.
