[HAMR] 21st August - Teethgrinder day 14 / 233
« on: 21 August, 2015, 09:20:59 am »
An 8:30AM (UK time) start from the outskirts of Dieppe, riding south. Looks like Steve missed the return ferry last night. An hour's rest following his PBP finish and then he was off. The next ferry is at 12:30 if he can get on it. Follow the tracker.

No, looks like back to Dieppe now.  Unfortunately, the crossing time was supposed to coincide with sleep time.  I wonder if he'll try to sleep on this one and then throw in a late finish to make up?  Or maybe he'll just enjoy the well earned rest.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

There would be a interesting calculation to separate the cycling distance from the motion of the ship starting from the GPS track.

Oh no!  Has he missed it again?
He almost got back and has now turned south, yet again.

My guess is that he'll just repeat the loop once or twice and catch the evening ferry, solving the sleep problem.

Are we sure about the numbering here, chaps?  14/233 I thought.
Getting there...

maybe he'll stay longer? I know which side of La Manche I'd rather be right now  :)

My bad. I have some sort of number dyslexia. Corrected !

By the way. Did you hear the one about the agnostic, dyslexic, insomniac? He used to lie awake all night worrying if there is, in fact, a dog.  ;D

I had a look at the ferries this morning as if to book a place, and it did say that the 12:30 was unavailable. Also his PBP support vehicle might be with him (hence the strava uploads last night). Looks OK for tonight though.

Steve was always booked on Friday night crossing -- single cabin. What he did after finishing was up to him - and looks as if he has worked carefully with the Boons,on his Thursday and Friday plans.
