For general use around the house including the bathroom.   Stereo not essential but desireable.

LJ Junior has a "ODT Turtle Shell 2.0" that I occasionally requisition and use with my mobile.  It sounds fine to me - plenty of volume while working in the garage.  It will probably have won some award somewhere for something as he tends to not buy the cheapest stuff.  I have no idea what he paid for it, and as he must have had it for well over a year I suspect they are on to  version 6.0 at least by now.

JBL Flip 3 is quite nice. It is stereo, and 'splashproof'.

We've got the Sony SRS XB2 and a couple of waterproof Creative Muvo minis. They get used with Chromecast Audios and Amazon echo dots. The Sony was twice the price, and I think the creative sounds nicer. It's £35 from Creative

JBL Charge 3

That's what I'm getting.  Waterproof, great sound and long charge life.
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

I've got these.

Reasonable sound for the price and being able to play direct from memory sticks / micro SD
is a big plus for me. The FM radio works fine also.

Interesting.  I may get one for my Motorhome. (or maybe a pair of them).

After spending some time at a friends house listening to one of these, I've just ordered one for me too....

We've been very pleased with our £50 JBL Flip (1). I also like the way one can stand the speaker (stereo) in the vertical or horizontal.  What Hi-Fi gave 5* in 2013, and said:

A sensational blend of portability and performance makes the JBL Flip a belting Bluetooth speaker

I suppose there's always an element of a review being 'relative to others at the time'.  I'm guessing later models are improved.

Thanks for the reminder, Valiant.  I've just taken a look at their site and their subwoofer has seriously got my attention!  I have a potential non-music use for that, I think I may have to give in to my desire for some serious shiny noisy stuff before long...  just need to confirm its overall dimensions...

Minirigs are spectacular. I have a 2.1 non Bluetooth set and they are outstanding.

It is simpler than it looks.
