TPT closure, 6 months, Fiddlers Ferry - Ignore

I know there are a few here that use the TPT and it's come to my notice that the TPT has a closure in place at Fiddlers Ferry for 6 months and the signed cycle diversion has been put in place all the way from Warrington to Widnes on the A562. This is lunacy.

The actual works are a 100 yard stretch at the back of the Ferry Tavern, the private road at the front of the pub is also a public footpath, so I'd recommend dismounting (or not  :demon: ) and going past the front of the pub, or crossing the bridge and railway and using the private road on the other side before re-crossing. I would have recommended having a beer but allegedly the ridiculous diversion is due to the pub insisting cyclists will be a mahoosive hazard and cause absolute carnage on a private road that's used for the pub's deliveries.

That's another pub added to the 'I don't spend my cash here' list.

The diversion for the Mersey Gateway is supposed to end soon but I haven't seen anything about it being re-opened yet.
