Are you one of the script-writers?

Just listened to that. It was rather sad.
There are two ways you can get exercise out of a bicycle: you can
"overhaul" it, or you can ride it.  (Jerome K Jerome)

.. indeed, but it wouldn't have happened at Holby City (home of miracle surgery and same-day full recovery heart transplants)

By chance I was with some friends in Hanbury (near Inkberrow, a.k.a. Ambridge) and there was no mention . . . .

Well, it was his fault that Will was at work rather than at home looking after his poorly wife...

The scripts haven't been that bad lately. I do have a problem with some of the acting though - especially the new Pip, who is extraordinarily irritating.

Script, what's this? I thought the Archers was a documentary.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Is she like Dr Who?

There was a mass cull of the actors who had played the younger members of the cast since they were kids. Apparently it was because the new producer felt that the existing actors hadn't any proper training as actors they had just grown up in the role and that now Pip etc were adults / late teens they wanted proper actors. IMHO the new actors are worse than the originals, a lot of the characters suddenly developed posher accents as well.

Which spoiled one of my tenuous claims to fame.  A teacher chum of mine had the original Pip actor in her primary school class when the character and actor was 10.

Pip Archer is better than William Tell - he had the whole apple to aim at.

I saw that this thread had been updated (and that '#Archers' was trending on Twitter) but avoided it to avoid spoiling my aural omnibus pleasure. You've all been very good at avoiding such spoilage, I can see now, but that was not enough.

The Matt Crawford hit and run was awkwardly shoe-horned in again, so it's not going away.

My bets say it was either Josh (fancy new car) or Alice (half pissed).

I've just bet a pint with a bloke  in the pub that Freddie won't receive a custodial sentence.

I can't answer that without spoilers, but I will note that your post is time-stamped 9.40pm and the episode in which the sentenced was announced went out at 7pm.

As nothing seems to have happened in Ambridge since last September, if this thread's anything to go by, I thought I'd resurrect it to note that Ted Kelsey, who played Joe Grundy, has died, so no more tragi-comic tales of homelessness and farmer's lung then.

He also played Mr. Growbags in a Wallace & Gromit blockbuster. Very much in character.

I recall Mrs. Wow and Dez watching some science fiction film some years ago. I happened to walk in at the point when the actor with David Archer’s voice warned in panicked tones about some imminent dreadful fate at the hands of some marauding aliens, to which the only possible response was “Eurgh neurgh!”
