Chain's a bit...

Tight!!

I'd retensioned a week or so ago and have only done about 50 miles since then. I'm sure it was not too tight at the time. However, this morning after a couple of shopping miles the transmission was binding. Rotating didn't reveal any point at which it wasn't, so it's not just a concentricity issue.

If this were the first time I'd ignore it as a simple overtightening error. However it's the second time in a couple of months.

Anyone have any ideas? The only change that seems relevant is a KMC chain fitted 3 months ago. I'd used SRAM until then.

Hub is Goldtec, sprocket EAI, chainset the original Sakae with 50t ring that is very nearly concentric in its current position (i.e. ring & spider errors cancel).

Could it be a bent axle? I speculate that the axle could somehow turn slightly in such a way as to move the sprocket back.
