well I like Adamski and, a few others I could mention have qualified via completion of the WCW which was the last on my PBP bucket list.

However I am completely unsure as to whether I will be going, the whole thing seems prohibitively expensive and, my funds are even tighter than usual this year. I find the fact that the costs are not fixed very off putting. What is peoples experience R:E the costs and, how do you keep them manageable?

Obviously I would love to go, just need some help convincing me it's doable, at this stage I cannot even bring myself to look at the website as I will probably click "enter" before I know it.

Costs can be reduced by eating with the locals and bumping the controls. It's faster and more fun. So even if you don't factor in the costs I can recomend it.
Lodging, a F1 hotel abt 10-15km from the starts with a shared room will cost you about 50 Euro pp for 4 nights.
Cycle up and down from a cheap ferry harbour might be cheaper as a French train (although factoring in British Rail it might actually be cheaper to cycle the UK stretch and take a train in France).

oh well, I've got carried away and registered. I haven't paid anything yet. Camping appears to be full so my next dilemma will be finding a way of getting there, sleeping and, somewhere safe to leave my kit while riding the event. I'd rather not take the car if I can avoid it.

All this talk of small shirts makes me think that even if I order the 4XL it will be too small for me  :-\

All done, finishing with the Troyes 600 km this last weekend.  Chuffed.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Ditto - Kirtons 600 done, qualification in the bag and looking like a nice social trip out there with ACB - sorted and as high as a kite.  Did i really want to ditch this twice last month? What a trip!

Carhaix 600 done yesterday.

My big treat on the ride was doing the Carhaix to Sizun section from the PBP route (my favourite bit). The views from the Roc'h Trevezel were stunning as was the descent into Sizun where the small town looked calm before the storm in August.

I was all for ditching it after packing on the Kernow. Entered the following day - this is the way this stuff is meant to go, I think.

BCM isn't up in the result yet, so still a nagging doubt that I didn't actually qualify.  :-\
