Title: Mrs Thatcher's Pork Chops
Post by: Cudzoziemiec on 10 May, 2011, 09:43:21 pm
I came across this recipe in a novel about a 43-year-old sob who one day jumps on his teenage Raleigh and cycles from Rhode Island to Los Angeles to sort out his emotional problems. I guess they don't have audax in America. The combination of that and the name meant this recipe had to appear on YACF.

Mrs Thatcher's Pork Chops and Sweet Potatoes
(serves 4)

4 sweet potatoes
flour
1/2 cup orange juice
4 pork chops
lemon juice
lemon rind (grated)
butter
dry mustard (tsp)
1/2 cup currant jelly
paprika (tsp)

Heat the oven to 350F.
Boil the potatoes.
Dip the chops in flour and brown.
Arrange chops and potatoes in baking dish.
Cover with sauce made from boiling other ingredients.
Cook 15 minutes.

So who's going to cook it first - maybe Wowbagger, maybe Rapples?  :D

Waiter: And what about the vegetables?
Thatch: They'll have the same!
