Went to the London Wetlands Centre yesterday with Mr Weasel and Auntie C and Tim.

And Mr Weasel!  Don't forget Mr Weasel!

I never realised that he was a bit of a birder  :)

Sadly, I'm not a nature photographer.  Things that move are an unnusual challenge for me and this is about the best I did all morning:

On the upside, I did take a nice frame of that loony in his coracle:

But my favourite shots of the day were made in the pub afterwards.  This is Julian and her new otter:

Julian and Kathy, demonstrating the second law of thermodynamics with otters:

(Heat cannot of itself pass from one body to an otter body)

And here's a gratuitous shot of my beaver:

Acting on a tip-off I wandered to my nearest park at lunchtime as there is some new sculpture. This will be instantly recognisable to geeks of a certain age.. Unfortunately I just had the phone on me. I'll head down with more kit when there is a nice sunset.

I'm too old.  But the sculpture is fun.

I'm 49.  But I've never really played video games.  They were boring when I was a kid, and not interesting enough for me to invest in after that.

I am undoubtedly a geek of a certain age.  Best video game ever written, that was.

Agreed, the sculptures are missing a couple though, where is the faller with their umbrella, the basher, digger, miner and the nice one would be a blocker.

I've often thought that blockers would make good comedy bollards.

The fun thing is that they are on a wall which would provide an ideal platform for more. I'll see if I can find the artist and if there are plans for the full set.

The artist is Alyson Conway and there are plans, subject to funds being available, for 3 or 4 more.

Taken in The City, near to Bank. I'd never seen one of those signs before - it was a strip of what looked like grip tape, stuck on the pavement with the writing in white.

Nice gritty capture that Jacomus.

I think it would be nice to have waited until there was some movement in it, couple of peeps walking down the far pavement just visible in the background perhaps. Than the leading line/perspective up the street would have something to lead to.

Photographed a lovely wedding at the weekend. I've only just uploaded/backed up all the photos and I'm really excited by what I've seen.
Couple of randomish novel shots. Can't wait to finish editing this one..

I had the weekend at Womad. Suffering from some serious back-focussing, which pissed me off, considering f2.8 is a useful aperture on a low lit stage.

Some photos are in other threads, but I liked this one.

It is simpler than it looks.

I absolutely agree.  Should be mandatory for kids to play that game in infant school (as well as playing with Meccano).  Think of the problem solvers and engineers we'd create.

Reminiscent of the technique used by the Aussies in the last Test.

Jaded,
The dog in that set has to be my favourite. Well spotted. Well framed.

I've been pushing myself out of my comfort zone again... so much better than the last time I tried this twelve months ago.

Trying out the case for the A460. Bit out of sorts close to at the edge of the frame, and some shadowing of the flash.
