Not today, but over the weekend some spectacular entertainment at Derby Feste

Spark!

And then the headliners, Voala Co - Muare.  Possibly the best show ever, atached to a huge crane, one moment down amongst the crowd then pulled away into the night sky, all with a great live soundtrack, three days later and I'm still amazed by it.

Visited my Son in Clapham and we all made the trip to the Tower, to see the remembrance poppie display.

I imagine every Londoner has seen it already (if not, why not?)

But here it is for those not lucky enough to have seen it.

First you make some ceramic poppies, one for every British military fatality in WW1.

Secondly you stick it in the ground and repeat

and keep repeating

..and repeating

.........and repeating

until it's just bloody breathtaking.

I'm so glad we made the effort to go and see it.  What a wonderful idea.

It is a wonderful idea.  Any idea what's planned for the poppies afterwards?
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

£25 each.

I've ordered one because it seems like a piece of history and because £25 doesn't seem bad to own a part of something like this.

Standing on the top of constitution hill in Aberystwyth holding my phone on top of a fence post because taking a proper camera would be silly.

I was shooting for Wikimedia last night up at one of the Science Museum's 'lates'.  They're getting involved in next month's evening event and we were making some publicity images and generally scoping out the venue:

As did my partner, hence the 10 year reunion of the Aberystwyth Student Scouts & Guides club of which she was founder.

I must say the roast dinner and chocolate cake in Y'Consti was marvellous even though the beer was rubbish, but retreating to Rummers solved that problem nicely.

I've got some lovely pictures on the DSLR of the sea front which I must process and share.

After my meeting by Regents Park I trawled across London (being warned that Tower Hill tube station was packed - it wasn't) then hearing a Tube worker just outside the station say "This reminds me of the Olympics!" I grabbed this one. I didn't fancy queueing up to loop round and get a bit closer.

I suppose it was half term, but I can't see it being less busy next week. After the 11th, they are going.

Stunning.

It is simpler than it looks.

Looking at Charlotte's museum pieces, an image comes into my head when I see the first one.

Went before work this morning. No real queues to speak of.
My friend went on Saturday and said it was rammed at 7am. Guess the weekend makes a big difference.

When I worked in Canary Wharf, I cycled passed the tower pretty much everyday for a few years, today was the first day I ever really looked at it.

Hiked up Black Mountain (Cypress Provincial Park) and they'd just turned the snow guns on.
