A camera phone rather than a phone.

It is simpler than it looks.

Daughters both played in Harrogate Competitive Music Festival this weekend. H, of forum road bike for kids renown, played clarinet and piano. Here she was at home and then in the warm up room before the grade 7/8 clarinet class (played the 5/6 class later).

Another walk down to the bridge. This time there was some serious activity going on.

I believe the blue thing is the top of the stairs, though I could be wrong and it just be some fancy bit of kit.
This is the overview. Must find out when the lift is due and ensure I can get the room and tripod to stop-motion it.

Been playing with a new wide-angle zoom I bought on Sunday.

The weather has been very overcast and "meh" but I couldn't resist playing.

Longparish, Hampshire.  Last night in very poor light.  Image Stabilisation comes to the rescue (Canon 100D + Canon 10-18mm)

Morecambe Bay, Monday afternoon.  Same set up.

Men at work..
The bridge now has some of the fancy walkways under construction. I wanted to get a top view but didn't have access to the room at the top of the tower today.

She does look delighted, though.

Stairway to heaven?

That is one side pretty complete but no lift in place yet.
Untitled by davidmamartin, on Flickr

The other side is nearly ready, maybe another week of concreting.

Only two weeks till the big lift
I was surprised that they were fitting the glass sides already, I thought they would wait till after the lift but then realised that would mean working over a live railway so probably a no-no. They will have to complete the span before lifting.

Should be able to take a walk down tomorrow for some closer shots.

It seems to be toad season, after almost stepping on this two we moved them to the pond where they were much happier.

Its a good place, isn't it?

When we went a couple of years ago, one of the big vultures showed me what it thought of me poking a long lens in its direction while it was flying over us, by bashing me on the head with its wing.  I wasn't expecting that!  That secretary bird does indeed kick the shit out of the rubber snake, its utterly manic.
