A drain cover. Not any ordinary drain cover but one outside the building that was originally the Pelikan factory in Hanover. It is now a hotel.

Went to the Sky Garden up the walkie talkie. For something that's free it's pretty good. Just requires advance booking

Ironically, one of my favourite things about my new studio is that I can get out on the roof.  Here's the rather handsome Alexander, shot with my Fujix100s and about 400 watt-seconds of portable sunshine:

2650 and 2671 look like they are from the pages of a fashion mag, or an advert.

Getting there...

Thanks Clazzer, that's the general idea  :)

I'm making personal work that will appeal to art directors and buyers, I hope.

really good shot of him, but the shadow is quite distracting. If it was mine, I'd crop it quite close to the bottom of the girder and paint in shadow all the way across..   Love number 671.

Yesterday, a nice walk in the woods near Roche abbey.

I loved the knarly old tree growing over the remains of a stone wall.

So anyway... I went for a walk after dinner with my Wife.  Our route involves heading up a hill at St Mary Bourne, Hampshire, where you get huge uninterrupted views of the area.

There was lots of wind, lots of rain for a few minutes and then we realised we'd escaped a lot worse by being at the edge of this beauty as it passed over.

A short trip on the bike before work to take a couple of snaps of my saddlepack for a friend (to be included in his next Cicerone guide book)  :)

Haven't been out with photography aforethought since last September, but I got this one on my ride on Saturday:

Cuddies in a field in Lorraine.

and this on the way down from the Donon:

I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

I like pubs full of bric-a-brac and the Black Boy pub, in Winchester, certainly is.

Alfred, king of Wessex (a place that doesn't exist and yet is mentioned on about a third of company names in the area.  Wessex FM for example.  I may be wrong but I think they only had Long-Wave in the 9th century).

had a fantastic wedding at the weekend at the asylum in Brixton.  An incredible venue that I had no idea existed. It looked a bit like this:

Your work has improved beyond measure Lee - obviously post processed but done very well.  The focus stacking shot and flowers moving in the wind are excellent.  All very enjoyable though.

Jaded love the Badders shots, cracking one of Toddy first up!  I'm hoping to be riding there next year..

Not today, but I was working last week with an incredibly talented young classical pianist called Cyrill.  We did some good stuff in the studio, but I’m always drawn to location portraiture and couldn’t resist putting him in a grungy alleyway in his white tie and tails.

Thanks Mike!  You must come down to the studio and play one day.  The pack behind the model is pretty much maxed out with a big, efficient reflector fitted.  The one in front of him is turned down to about 1/4 of maximum, through a 100cm square softbox.  Lightroom tells me that my zoom was at 36mm and the camera was on ISO200, f/8 and 1/250th.  it was actually quite a bright day, but I pulled the sky down a bit in post to make it look more overcast and darker than it was.
