I waited :). I did have a shot with a yacht going under the bridge but the composition of this one was better.

Kipped out on the fells again.  At the Bowfell Hotel this time.  Highlights:

Nice work Bill. Particularly the first two. Are you carrying a tripod on the overnights?

Thanks Mike.  Tripod - yep, though reluctantly with the extra weight.  But it's always worth it.

Thanks yet again Bill - as fine a set of three pictures from an overnight as one could wish to see!

A few from today.

If I can be arsed I'll look at the RAW conversion on a couple of them.

Love the second one.  You've caught the attitude of the oss just right, the spray, the reflection in the not-yet-disturbed water, and the dirty great jump immediately behind.

Yeah, looking again the third one was a bit indifferent wasn't it?  This is much more the way it was at the time:

Having a play with adapted lenses. This one was taken with an Olympus 50mm/f1.8 on my Panasonic G6. It meters well in aperture priority mode and focus peaking means it's quick and easy to get a sharp image.

Agreed.  Stunning.

My attempts at Star photography look rather pathetic by comparison.
I was on holiday in a perfect location in France but frustrated with (small) max aperture and (by modern standards) lack of good high ISO quality.

This is looking out from the cottage we rented near Perigueux in France.
It was a fabulous way to spend 2 weeks.  Nice food and wine by day and reclining in front of our "Wide Screen Space TV" every evening

Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

I'm particularly fond of this photo of a bike I found in Agonac village centre, France.

All Chaincases should look like this.

Also from our holidays was this.  Getting closer and closer to our cottage I suddenly started getting a bit nervous about being up on a hill, holding a metal tripod.

This one didn't knock out the power but this one BELOW did (turn up the volume on your PC before playing this...it may give you an indication of how close it was to us... and the mains power).

That will be thunder and lightning then <<<< Clicky for video

Not bad, that.  About a month after we moved to Paris we lived on the top floor of a block of flats that was struck. The bang was followed an instant later by the crash of the missus dropping a set of wedding-prezzy crockery that we detested.  Quick thinker, the missus.
