Title: Sram dual drive is slipping
Post by: mike on 29 April, 2008, 08:50:38 am
the Sram dual drive on my folder (dahon speed TR, like this (http://www.bikefold.com/dahon_speed_tr_bike.htm) but Orange) is slipping quite badly in 2nd (it's more or less un-useable) and slips occasionally in 3rd & 1st.  The derailleur works fine, and changes from 1 - 7 with no problems, it's the hub gear slipping.

Any ideas how to fix it?  [no frenchie, I dont want to Fix it, just fix it :)]

Possibility of a bit of cable stretch maybe?

It could be the cable tension but if it's slipping in 3rd, which is the gear with the cable fully released, then it could be something more sinister.
How old is the bike?  What kind of mileage has it done?

I got it 2nd hand, it's probably about 4 or 5 years old and has had a reasonably hard life until I got it.

it's not slipping much in 3rd, only very occasional.    Cable tension might make sense, it seems to have got a lot worse quite quickly. Will take a look tonight.
