I guess I could have the PF rollers in the bottom pane and the pleated/other in the top pane but I imagine that will look a bit naff.

Or, maybe I could ditch the curtains and get my joiner to build me some sort of contraption with runners along the top and bottom and sliding screens/shutters....

Paint the windows black. It'll also discourage the neighbours as they'll either think you've got a pot farm or are, in fact, vampires.
