A Cookbook for Veggie Athletes?
« on: 06 December, 2009, 01:30:19 pm »
I'm going more veggie (tending towards "meat is a treat") but there's only so many beanie burgers I can stand.  Can anyone recommend a "healthy veggie food for atherletes" cookbook?
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Just get an ordinary veggie cookbook and double the quantities.  ;)

I've got a shelfful of veggie cookbooks but I can't say I've ever seen one specifically for athletes.

Sports Nutrition, Anita Bean.  Not specifically a cookbook, nor specifically veggie, but it does have quite a few veggie recipes in.  And a lot of more general information and advice.

I'm not sure if there is such a thing Andy - my best times were done about 75% of the way through my 17 years of vegetarianism (proper like: no animals, some cheese, lots of everything else). Eat lots!!

Anita Bean.

There's a vegetarian recipe right there! You might want some brown rice or something with it though.
