Following the plastic bag incident, a rear mech, a derailleur hanger and an assortment of Rose's finest DT Swiss spokes.  Also some fresh rim tape.

Noticed I could get the same XT mech that I've got on the Streetmachine for a couple of quid more than the basic Deore, so went for that.  I reckon the tension spring's getting a little tired and a new one might cause the non-drive-side chain to rattle a bit less on what passes for resurfaced roads these days.  The Streetmachine's one should work fine on an upwrong, and it always makes sense to have matching components when there's no reason not to.

To the LBS for a couple of tops for me, a pair of mitts each for Mrs Wow and me, some bar tape for the back of the tandem, a Schwalbe Marathon Plus for the tandem, a couple of inner tubes and a couple of water bottles. It's easy to blow £150 on cycling kit.

To LBS coz the man said to bring in my new butterfly after 400k so that he could check the spokes.  While waiting, bought a spare chain & links & a pair of gloves. Pop goes the mustelid.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

No. Because the LBS only has Marathon Plus in 25mm variety, which is particularly useless for a touring tyre.
Rose only have 32mm on 2 week availability.

Incident discussed here.

I like Basil's advice of always trying to pass them on the left side of the bike.

TBH, I suspect I was probably freewheeling at the time (it's a gentle downhill and barakta was slowing for a junction in front of me), and turned the pedals instinctively in order to put my preferred foot down when I thought the bag might have become entangled, causing it all to go horribly wrong.  Which is the sort of rookie mistake that people who don't ride fixed are likely to make.

Nice! 8)

I've gone on a bit of a component splurge this evening. New chainrings, cassette, chain, brake pads, bar tape and full cable set for the Tourer so I can give it a proper service.

Also got some new A520 pedals for my road bike to replace the M520s, and a new pair of shoes :)

A pair of wheels arrived from Spa - sent a front schmidt dynohub for a rebuild (chose a chrina rim) and had a new rear 105/chrina to match. New Edelux headlight too :)

Very nice!

I've ordered a new big chainring for the not-Tifosi. Exciting stuff (though a new wheel would be more useful!).

A new lowrider rack arrived from HPVelotechnik.  IBAN payment faff and delayed due to "extreme circumstances" international shipping aside, that was officially the quickest and least painful recumbent-related purchase I've ever made.

if you ever do another one, I can do IBAN payments easily in Euros and often do this for chums.

Patience, dear boy, piccies will be forthcoming on Thursday, once I have collected it from Evans*

Meanwhile, drool at the spec:
Omniad M30 CF frame
Ultegra 6800 2*11
Shimano R685 hydraulic disc brakes
American Classic Argent wheels, tubeless ready.

It is LIGHT!!!!

*I would, normally, rather run a mile than buy from them, but they are the UK importers of Jamis, so I had no choice...
