http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-35957982My son lives in Wivenhoe, so I have first hand experience of this.
We went to visit a week ago and the diversion is not especially irksome, but I understand that it has been in place so long that one of the local pub landlords has gone bankrupt as no-one can drive to his pub. I suspect it could have been handled a little more sensitively, but that is no reason to threaten the workforce.
