USB to 5v power cable

this is going to sound daft, so apologies in advances.

I have an old GPS I want to use. Turns out that it only charges via a round pin connection which is yellow tipped and I think 5v.

Its got a usb charger so all I need is an appropriate cable usb to power.

Is there something special I need to get or will any cable do e.g.

You probably ought to check the polarity.  Pretty much everything is centre positive, except for the things that are centre negative.

In that listing "2.0" refers to the USB 2.0 specification, which is meaningless in a dumb power cable.  What they should actually be saying is "USB type A male", which defines the plug.

2.5mm and 0.7mm are the external and internal diameters of the DC plug.

Thanks. How do I check the polarity?  All I know is that it has a yellow tip!  I do have a multimeter somewhere.

If it helps it's for a tomtom gps

Edit - back of the unit states 5v 2am with the centre of the power being positive and the outer ring being negative.so given that would either if the cables referenced work?

Exposure lights use a cable exactly like that for charging (at least my Strada does.)
