Offline google calendar on chromebook.
« on: 17 July, 2018, 09:41:32 am »
Just got a smaller chromebook to complement my larger chromebook and android tab. Well pleased with it (especially at £99 delivered) - got it for ramming in a pannier when touring/sorting gpxed routes.

BUT

on booting it up/updating it, google seems to have removed the ability to use the calendar offline and pin it to the taskbar.

1: Am I by any chance mistaken in thinking this?

2: If not, any way round it?

3: Why on earth would they implement such a non advance? Have seen some stuff online that thinks this may be part of some devilish longer term plan, such is the lack of trust of google these days.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions confirms that there is no calendar extension from Google, either online or offline capable.

If your Chromebook supports Android apps and the Play store, then that would be the official way to go, I think.
