National Arboretum 100km
« on: 23 September, 2018, 10:16:13 am »
This will be my first Audax in 2 years after a n accident required a knee re-build. There is a link to a GPS on the AUK webby but the route does not exist. Does anyone have a link to a valid gps?

Can't help with the GPS request but best of luck on the ride. Knees can be a bit of a bugger really.
You're only as successful as your last 1200...

Thanks for the route. This looks interesting for my first 100km audax in that its flat most of the way back and the start is quite close by. However...its too early to be sure of the weather!

May I check but I take it that the route in Derby is on cycle paths. If this is so, are they rideable on a normal road bike?

Many thanks

Ian

Yes road bike is fine the cycle paths are sealed surfaces and much better than fighting with city traffic. Where the cycle path ends just before Swarstone the road is in poor condition but its only a short section.

Derby cycle paths get a thumbs-up from me.  Relatively little nonsense, and much easier than some of the roads in the city centre.

This ride is on 2 November this year and it starts up the road from me (Denby).

It's a very, very long time since I rode 100k, and it might be time I did again.
What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?
