How splendidly 80s...
-
Must watch those in full some time and see if I'm in it.

I noticed barakta watching it last night, on account of the spontaneous LOLing when it got to the McBoatface part. I then had to explain Heinz Wolff. (Barakta missed the 80s, because they didn't come with subtitles.)
-
Must come back and watch part two, you can never have too much Heinz Wolf

The water craft were interesting to see. Do the human power club or whatever they're called nowadays still do those?
How splendidly 80s...
I wonder if, 30 years from now, your SILVER MEDAL* performance will seem equally geeky and futilely optimistic?
*I've no idea if there actually was a medal. I kind of suspect not.

I'm fairly sure it already does (plus I was on a 1990s bike, so not that far off). Going fast while not taking things too seriously[1] is part of the appeal of HPV racing.
I think the recumbent world has come to accept that mainstream cycle sport simply isn't interested in radical engineering changes, and that the real-world market for recumbent cycles is based mainly on comfort/ergonomics rather than performance advantages. And that's fine.

There was a ceramic cup thing. I've since won some much sillier trophies[2] in the BHPC championship.
[1] Hence a complete non-athlete like me can make a decent go of it.
[2] Some re-assembly required.

BHPC Championship? So what was the championship in which you silver-medalizated?
(Remembered: it was the WORLD championship, wasn't it? Or World Cup [of not football], or similar title.)
