Wokked a heap of prawns with much garlic and ginger. Missus made a risotto to go with.  Followed up with a potlet of coffee and bitter Malagasi chocolate.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Al fresco chish & fips sitting on the quay at New Quay.  It's a most glorious day,.  Deep blue sea and sky.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Perhaps you are thinking of Newquay.  We didn't go there.  We went to New Quay.   :)

I believe the Brevet Cymru is a 400km Audax ride (subject to some current uncertainty) between somewhere in the vicinity of the Severn Bridge and the Mariner Cafe in New Quay, Ceredigion. Perhaps other yacfers could correct me if I'm wildly wrong about this.

ETA: There is much agonising about the future of the Brevet Cymru in the Audax board.
Those of us who have done the Brevet Cymru have very fond memories of it (though I have advised against chish & fips for those of delicate constitution as tasting the same again on the climb out of New Quay might not be pleasurable).

I spent Christmas one year at Maen y Groes...

Newquay is the place in Cornwall where my left crank parted company with my bicycle when I was doing a solo LEJOG in 1986.

I think...

Grilled duck breast + baked spud, coffee (El Fuego, Guatemala) with 100% Peruvian chocolate.

Mrs. T42 brought the chocolate back from Straspberry on Saturday.  I'm still trying to decide if I like it. It tastes fruity as well as being a bit bitter - the kind of thing you try out on guests. Marries well with the coffee, though.

Crappy chish and fips at The Parcel Yard @ KGX as I wait for a train. Would be nice to say that the beer makes up for it, but it doesn't.

Good skills. I was gifted a young buck (15kg) from a local RTA a few weeks ago. I salvaged 7kg of decent venison.

Sainsbury's do a rather nice 'Beetroot and Sesame' dip which is a rather shocking PINK colour and is lower in Calories, which you may or may not like...

It's good with crudités.

Was there a lot of damage to it ?
