Website visible via one ISP but not another?
« on: 02 February, 2012, 02:41:18 pm »
I've been trying to look at
http://www.foodtimeline.org/foodcakes.html
It's fine on my iPad via O2 3G, but there's no response from the server via the Orange broadband at home, even on the iPad whe it's using wifi.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Steve

Hmm, I can't get to it from here ( work ) either.

Looks OK from here:

Looks like a disturbance in the force.
A routing issue somewhere near their hosts, I'd say.

It will no doubt fix itself in due course.

It's not working for me either, via Firefox or IE via PlusNet broadbean.  "The connection has timed out".

*tries again*

Still not working.  Could it simply be too busy?  It is about cake, after all.

I tried at lunchtime: wasn't working on the iMac, so tried on the iPad (where I'd found the site yesterday).  No joy.  Turning the wifi connection on the iPad off, so it went to using the 3G, site appears!

... it works here on FF - but the domain is managed/hosted by GoDaddy which, IME, is very flaky* and has lots of outages and blips.

The other thing (which I have had some issue with on one of my sites) is that the page text is massively long ... I found that vast pages - either simple html or via a CMS it gave, for no logical reason, issues with access.
