As I said at the finish, I wasn't feeling in the mood to appreciate the lumpiness of the final sections after Rhayadar to the finish with leaden legs.
But payback has been granted and yesterday's 150km headwind slog back from Newtown to Poynton across the Plain was managed OK.
So, I can now offer my thanks for the hills and the training effect.
