My understanding of the plan is....

Gather at Spa Road for 19:30 depart, heading for the Willow via jibers route on gritted roads.
See what the pub is like, if its closed or really grim, return to spoons in Witham.
Relatively early night for most is assumed.

Being a ‘soft Saffer’ it is too cold for me. Been out three times today and struggled so if anyone does go to Spoons please say. I can walk there 😀

I'm out in London this Wednesday. Surprised nobody has yet mentioned the weather and suggested another short ride. For the record, I would have ventured out whatever the weather, but sadly I'm needed in London.

The Prince of Wales in Stow Maries feels like a spring/summer destination.

Coggeshall ?

Witham ?

Other Compasses ?

Or we make Thursday the new Wednesday and go to The Ale House, Chelmsford for their Tiny Rebel Tap Takeover. Me and TCMR fancy it but we shall let the train take the strain.

Yes to Alehouse tap takeover, I was planning on that anyway.

PoW plan A, Plan B is Hurdlemakers. Plan C is Thursday instead of Wednesday.

We did Witham last week for them that fancied turning up :D

Hurdlemakers then - unless it really is as bad as it might be on Wednesday.

We went there in sleet/snow last winter and it's main roads home after the first hundred yards.

To be honest, I'd rather cycle over in the cold on Wednesday, rather than the cold and wet on Thursday.

Anyone who wants to go to the Alehouse by train on Thursday ( myself included), still can.

The Other Compasses (Great Totham) is not reliable on opening hours and even having beer at the moment. Apparently landlord is very ill, some neighbors are helping out by opening up and serving when they can!

Ice, location and freezing temperatures aside, I have a tedious work dinner tonight, so will not be slipping and sliding to a pub.

Hoping for a slight thaw for Saturday's ride....

Similarly stuck with work. Having spent a week in our head office in LA, a pleasant 20 degrees C, back to this!

Awaiting on permission slip in triplicate (& the weather) before entering Saturday's ride, hope springs eternal.

I'm planning to be out tonight

The Hurdlemakers is an easy home run for me.  I was planning to meet up at spa road for 1930 as normal.

Don’t think I’ll be out this evening. I’ll use doing ride prep stuff for Saturday as my excuse.
