[HAMR] 13th April - Miles Smith - Day 3
« on: 13 April, 2015, 01:58:02 pm »
22:53 and he's still moving.  Does he sleep at all?
I can't figure out what's going on, his 'day' on trackleaders is only showing 110 miles which at a guess is his total in the UK day, after 09:00 Aus.
Anyone got a link to his list of activities on Strava?  I've found his athlete profile but I can't find his activities.

Beach Rd is very easy, has a fast surface and there are lots of cyclists to draft. If he went anywhere else, he'd go slower.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

It sounds like a job of work - eminently sensible approach. Go miles, Miles*!

My guess would be a combination of two factors; first that Miles is accustomed to working night shift so he is a little different to most of us in terms of his body clock.
Second, all the USA based technology seems to have difficulty with the international date line and the time difference. The yanks can't seem to understand its tomorrow here - we are a day ahead.
Anyway - weather in Melbourne today; we've got rain for the first time in a week so the roads are greasy. It's cool, not cold and is going to fine up and warm up to 22 c.

It looks like Sunday/Monday night he was down the end of the bay and moving at 00:00 local.  Therefore Sun & Mon should both be 1.5 loops, around 200 miles.  The run North in the early hours is showing but I think the next loop is missing.  Odd, you'd expect the track that crosses midnight to be the spanner in the works and the trip cleanly inside a day to be easy.

Hope they get it sorted.

Stats are up now. 827.6 miles in the first 4 days. On a like for like basis, he is in the lead by 90.6 miles over Tommy and 34.6 miles over Kurt.

Someone riding 100 days behind and doing 10mpd more could be quite demotivating.

Still only 71.7 miles on the UMCA spreadsheet for day 3. The second trip down the bay that day is on Strava and hence Jo has it in her stats.  I hope Miles' team can get it sorted with UMCA.

I suspect its just the time difference - Miles is about 20 hours ahead of UMCA HQ.
